Swarm server up, NATS everywhere, jailbreaks next

A Swarm Server Goes Up

Liz stood up a shared compute server for Prompt Engineering, and the dev classes turned to NATS and actor-critic agents.

This issue is dressed as Cyber Ghetto

Liz set up a swarm compute server so students in the Prompt Engineering classes could share compute resources. The week's dev sessions built on it: Senior Devs worked on NATS service discovery and an actor-critic agent where one agent writes a Python script and a critic reviews it, all over NATS.

Junior Devs deployed a NATS server and wrote a Python script that listens on a channel and sends emails. Prompt Engineering moved from benchmarking to red-team jailbreaking prompts, to test whether benchmarks actually capture an alignment strategy.

The video list covered Llama 3, Mamba, AI music and a run of security news including HuggingFace and PuTTY getting hacked.

Hey Multiverse Crew,

This week I played so many video games, omg. I also got a swarm compute server up so that we can share our compute resources for Prompt Engineering classes, so I was a little productive, yay me. The house passed an emergency spending measure to support a genocide and ban TikTok, so they were anti-productive, fuck those guys. I hope tiktok doesn't get banned. If they do... I will need your help to grow my Youtube Channel I guess.

I also got a swarm compute server up so that we can share our compute resources for Prompt Engineering classes

Scholarship Opportunities

CS Master's Student Fellowship Program - For Master's Students, do a complex, non-trivial project involving cutting edge AI that you can bring some newbies along with to see a really cool thing get made, get a major break on tuition.

Executives - Run a cutting edge project at the forefront of AGI and then publish it and help it get monetized. Goal is a financial return on the investment of your time as well as a transformative experience of your leadership practice and is often an emotional breakthrough experience. Ask anyone who has gone through it. Major price break on tuition for the contribution towards a project.

Underrepresented in Tech - There's a special price on every page, self-select into this group please, it's 30% off for you. Please discuss with me- I can only admit so many scholarship students and it will take me time to process your request. We can't do 100% scholarships but we can offer some substantial discounts given a description of your circumstances.

Learn to Code Bootcamp This Summer, Begins June 3rd

Here's the Learn to Code bootcamp. This will be a more structured, code-together program, so if you're looking for that, come hang out.

Sprint Kickoff 1:1s, make sure to book time with Liz

Tuesday

Senior Devs @ 11am with Liz - NATS: Swarm Service Discovery
Prompt Engineering @ 5pm with Liz - Benchmarking

Prompt Engineering now begins April 23 as a 6-week class. It's only $50 a week, or $36 a week if you're under-represented in tech.

I made the Prework free if you wanna keep up: Prework Day 1 Prework Day 2

Here's a link if you need to pay weekly instead but it's just a $50 subscription and you have to cancel it at the end of the class. I'll figure out how to handle payment plans easier sometime but for now this is what I have for you.

Complex Adaptive Systems and Game Theory

We'll catch up with the following readings and record our discussion on Tuesday:

Chapter 5 of Plato: Team Reasoning and Conditional Games Part 2 of Finite and Infinite Games (No One Can Play Alone), pages 42-72 in the pdf

Wednesday

Junior Devs @ 11am with Liz: Set Up a NATS server & create an Email sender

We'll deploy NATS and then write a python script that listens on a channel for emails to send

Thursday

Senior Devs @ 11am with Liz: Build an actor-critic agent

We'll build an actor-critic agent attached to a NATS server you will run locally. This agent will take specs of whatever length you want and produce a single python script, then a critic will review the script. All of this will happen over NATS. The goal is to get something you can ship out the door.

Prompt Engineering @ 5pm with Liz - Jailbreaking

In this session we'll write red-team jailbreaking prompts to ensure your benchmarks properly establish your alignment strategy. We'll also share our own jailbreaking research with the group.

See you in the future~
