During break week, Liz announced two additions for the next session: weekly demo days where research teams show interim progress and ask for feedback, and a weekly meetup across all research teams.

She also put out a call for I/O psychologists and psychometricians to join a research project on benchmarks. Anyone else could contribute by taking Prompt Engineering and building their own benchmarks, which get reviewed as part of the research.

A weekly Work On Your Website session was also introduced, open to researchers and to students enrolled in more than one class in a track.

It's break week! I'm currently on a plane, heading to a secret-but-not-for-long event that I'll probably post a lot about once I'm allowed to. I'm really excited! I have been getting more and more into Robots lately, which has lead me to yet more adventures. The thing I'm most excited about is being the biggest newb in the room, it's always a good idea to be the least knowledgeable person in the room you're in if you want to learn a lot.

On the Multiverse front, we'll be doing some new stuff once the next session starts. We'll do research demo days weekly to motivate folks to ship. We'll also do a weekly meetup between all research teams- the cross-collaboration is too important to miss.

I/O Psychologists and Psychometricians

Are you an I/O Psychologist or a Psychometrician? I would love to chat about the research project I have been hinting about. I'm sending a doodle around this week for the week after.

Are you just interested in the concept of this research, AGI, Psychometrics and are absolutely positive your unique field and set of interests will allow you to meaningfully contribute, but are not an I/O Psychologist or psychometrician? You want to attend prompt engineering! You'll learn all about the process of building effective benchmarks there. We'll be discussing the research, and you'll learn quite a bit more in that class. You can help by attending this class and attempting to make your own benchmarks, this is literally the research. We'll discuss the forms of validity in that class, and you are able to contribute to the research by constructing your own benchmarks and having them reviewed.

Demo Days

We're going to have cross-research-team demos weekly! These aren't "big deal" demos, they're to motivate you to report on the interstitial progress you made, and to solicit help and feedback. This will likely be on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, in the morning. We'll send a doodle to all researchers.

Work On Your Website

Do you have a website? Even if you do, I bet it needs to be updated. We're going to do a Work On Your Website session once a week. This will likely be on Mondays or Tuesday, in the morning, available to researchers or people who are enrolled in more than one class in a track.
